When it comes to sweet treats, just call out my name and I'll come running.

According to the Lansing State Journal, a family owned bakery called "Cupcakes and Kisses" with locations in Holly and Owosso, will open its third location in downtown St. Johns this fall.

We are all so looking forward to this. I love bakery's!

The St. Johns location is at 115 E. Walker St. Cupcakes and Kisses will be offering everything from pies, cinnamon rolls, cakes, granola, brownies, cookies, cheesecakes, coffee and the bakery's most popular item, cupcakes. YUMMY!

Let me tell you a little bit about the business owners. Toni and Keven Barnett, who both worked as nurses at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac before becoming business owners, started the bakery in a 1,700 square foot space in downtown Holly in 2015. (LSJ)

In the spring of 2019, Toni and Kevin opened their Owosso store.

Roughly about 30 people work for Cupcakes and Kisses and that also includes the Barnett's 4 children, age 8 to 16. They all help out at the bakeries where everything is made on site daily.

The Barnett's children are growing up at their bakeries, learning to interact with customers and to create something of their own. And you never know, some day the kids might being running the whole operation for their parents.

The new location in St. Johns will offer only a few tables for seating.

The Barnett family is currently working on the inside getting things ready for their grand opening sometime this fall.
