It's time for you and your family to get outside and enjoy some old fashion winter fun right here in Greater Lansing.

Even though at this point and time snow comes and goes, the winter chill is here to stay for quite some time. And we all know sooner or later that more snow will be coming our way.

Instead of staying inside, it's time to get your family outdoors to enjoy sledding, tubing, cross country skiing, or snow boarding. (Lansing State Journal)

There are still plenty of things to do in the Greater Lansing area:

1. Hawk Island County Park. Located at 1601 Cavanaugh Street, the tubing hill is open on weekends for the entire winter season. Visitors simply need to buy a timed entry ticket before arriving at the park due to limited capacity. The staff has managed to create two tubing lanes.

2. Granger Meadows. Located at 1745 Granger Meadows Lane, they are open daily from dusk to dawn. Granger meadows features its sledding hill, ice skating pond and choice of paved and mulched trails.

3. Fitzgerald Park. Located at 133 Fitzgerald Park Drive in Grand Ledge. This beautiful park features cross country ski trails, a disc golf course and plenty of nature trails. Fitzgerald Park is open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk. There is a small fee for county residents and for non-residents.

4. Woldumar Nature Center. Located at 5739 Old Lansing Road. They feature more than 5 miles of trails and are open daily from dawn to dusk. Woldumar is an excellent spot for hiking and cross country skiing. You must wear a mask and social distance from other people on the trails. (LSJ)
