Let me start out by saying that Michigan's Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising is one of the most beautiful premiere locations for fall colors in the Upper Peninsula.

What makes Pictured Rocks so incredibly breathtaking is the fact that the national lakeshore covers more than 70,000 acres of parkland and 40 miles of shoreline along Lake Superior.

This is one my my favorite spots in Michigan. My wife and I took one of the long boat tours two summers ago along Pictured Rocks and we were completely stunned by all its beauty. We would highly recommend it to everyone..

Mlive.com paints the perfect fall season:

One of the best ways to admire Pictured Rocks' sandstone cliffs in the full glory of fall color season is to take a relaxing ride with Pictured rocks Cruises, the only National Park Service authorized concessionaire offering narrated boat tours of the lakeshore.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is just incredible this time of season and there is so much to see and do during the peak fall season.

For example: Have you ever thought about hiking the Chapel?

Mlive.com tells us:

One of the most classic hiking spots at Pictured Rocks, this part of the park includes a number of varying-length hikes and sights to see-and the trails, often muddy in spring and summer, are generally pretty dry right now, Reece said. For a beautiful full-day fall adventure, hike the 10-mile Chapel Loop.

That's one thing my wife and I haven't attempted to do as of yet. We both really enjoy hiking but I'm not sure if we could make it the whole 10 miles.

The best part of hiking 10 miles is all the beautiful fall colors you'll see along the trail. Can you imagine how many pictures you would be able to take in such a picturesque area?

It's time to plan a trip to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising to enjoy what nature has to offer during the peak fall season.
