What's this world coming to when you can't even trust police officers? Or maybe we should say fake police officers.

That's exactly what happened in Monroe County, Michigan. Apparently, a few men decided to dress up as sheriff's deputies and then they proceeded to force their way into someone's home.

According to mlive.com:

Real deputies responded to the home in the 2100 block of Sandy Creek Lane at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 14, to take a report of the home invasion that had just occurred, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Here's the crazy part, several men who forced their way into this guys house, tied him up, and then robbed his home.

Picture yourself at home minding your own business when all of a sudden, these fake police officers knock at your door and then push their way in. My first instinct would be what in the world is going on?

This guy probably thought they were good people when actually they turned out to be no good losers. I'm not sure anyone would have felt any better about that whole situation.

Mlive.com also tells us:

After the four individuals fled the home, the homeowner went to a neighbor's home and called 911 to report the home invasion. police said. The homeowner suffered minor injuries in the incident which remains under investigation, police said.

If this could happen in Monroe County, Michigan, then this could happen just about anywhere.

The one thing I just can't stop thinking about is where did these guys get the sheriff's deputies uniforms?

Was it that simple to impersonate an actual police officer to take advantage of a Michigan citizen?

Unless you're wanted by the law, I would lock all doors and windows and make sure no one can force their way into your home at any cost.
