What are your thoughts about trick-or-treating during the coronavirus pandemic? We do know that Halloween is not canceled and we all know that the CDC has recommendations regarding safety tips for Halloween.

At this point, city officials and local organizations across Greater Lansing have started to release plans for Halloween festivities. (Lansing State Journal)

There are several events that are canceled this Halloween and they are:

Downtown Trick or Treat on the Square. Based on everyone's safety.

Eastwood Towne Center. Safety reasons

Great Pumpkin Walk East Lansing. The Downtown Management Board is considering alternative activities. (LSJ)

Halloween parade in Charlotte. 

Here are a few Halloween events to look forward to:

Carnival of the Creatives which is a drive thru Halloween Extravaganza. This event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 219 N. Grand Avenue in Lansing. It will feature dancers, body painters, visual artists, and local musicians.

Lansing Parks and Recreation drive thru trick or treat. This event will take place on Halloween day from 1 to 3 p.m. at Frances Park in Lansing. Over 40 booths will be featured.

Downtown trick or treat in Charlotte. Are you ready for safe trick or treating in downtown Charlotte? This event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26. Everyone is required to wear a mask with your costume while participating in social distancing. (LSJ)

Meridian Township with Virtual Halloween Contests. Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a series of contests including Halloween decorating, pumpkin carving and a costume contest. The first contest will be house decorating with a deadline of Oct. 18.

Here are a few reminders for trick or treaters and for home owners:

"The city is asking homeowners to mark 6 foot distances on their walkways, and to set up a table in their driveway or away from their front door to distribute individually wrapped candy while sanitizing the table frequently." (LSJ)

Trick or treaters, please maintain social distancing, wear a CDC approved mask beneath your costume and wash your hands frequently.
