Enchanted Borealis Trail Hikes at Two Michigan State Parks
Are you a fan of hiking? Be prepared for Enchanted Borealis Trail hikes at two Michigan state parks in December.
What makes these trail hikes so special is not only snow, but lanterns, holiday lights, and campfires.
According to mlive.com:
There will be four hikes at Seven Lakes State Park in Holly and three at Ionia State Recreation Area in Ionia. All the events are 5-8 p.m. The hikes are free; Seven Lakes requires registration.
Personally speaking, I've never done this type of hiking before, but it really sounds enjoyable. And even though the hikes are free, there are some things you may want to consider.
The hikes are free, but Seven Lakes is incorporating a park fundraiser: rent your own campfire spot for $20 (wood and fire starting included). At Ionia, there will be a community campfire for all participants to enjoy. Marshmallow roasting is encouraged – bring your own marshmallows and other supplies.
I really like the idea of hiking trails that will be lit with lanterns and beautiful holiday lights. It sounds like something you would see in a romantic movie on "Lifetime."
I think a lot of people really enjoy hiking especially knowing that there are beneficial qualities that are involved. Qualities such as a form of exercise and relaxation. And when you come across a beautiful trail, there's just nothing like it.
Just to give you a quick heads up, be prepared at Seven Lakes. You will walk a one mile path through the forest, lit up with lanterns, and you might come across uneven terrain.
