They are all the rage right now. The use of CBD oils is being touted as an alternative to several medications. With a variety of uses, it is the cure for all that ails you so to speak.

A short list of uses and benefits for CBD oil include helping with anxiety, chronic pain, glaucoma, epilepsy, and I've even know people that say it helps them to get a really good night's sleep. Please note, this product does not get you high. Does it contain THC? Trace amounts depending on what you get. Will it make you fail a drug test? Do your research. (Very Well Health)

And while you can now buy it in a variety of places (from your nearest chain drug store, Family Video, even Kroger), you need to be careful and CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR before you start using it.

Some research indicates that the use of CBD oil may trigger a number of side effects, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Changes in appetite
  • Changes in mood
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

There’s also some concern that the use of CBD oil may lead to increased levels of liver enzymes (a marker of liver damage or inflammation). (Very Well Health)

Researchers at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science found that while this cannabis derivative is gaining significant recognition as of late in the world of wellness, people that use CBD are at an elevated risk for liver toxicity.

The findings, which were published earlier this year in the journal Molecules, suggest that while people may be using CBD as a safer alternative to conventional pain relievers, like acetaminophen, the compound may actually be just as harmful to their livers. (Forbes)

So please before you decide to listen to your friends or just go buy a bottle from over the counter at you local video store, consult with your doctor. And get all the facts. And if you've been using CBD oil for a while make sure you know all the facts.
