Detroit Lions Football Same Old Boring Story
Before I get started with this post about the Detroit Lions, let me just say there are two teams who have never made an appearance in a Super Bowl game.
One of those teams is none other than the Cleveland Browns, and I'll give you just one guess on the other NFL team. That's right, the Detroit Lions.
The Detroit Lions have never won a Super Bowl game because they've never appeared in a Super Bowl game. Some say only when hell freezes over will that ever happen.
Over the weekend, I was watching the Lions and the Vikings game and it was a really good game. The Lions were winning until the final few minutes. Some things never change.
So what exactly took place in the final minutes of that football game. Mlive.com helps us out:
Quarterback Kirk Cousins found another broken coverage in Detroit’s defense, and connected with a wide-open K.J. Osborn for a 28-yard touchdown pass with 50 seconds left that sent the Lions to a heart-wrenching 28-24 loss at U.S. Bank Stadium.
And that's how it went. A Detroit Lions victory at first, until Kirk Cousins took control of the game and the rest is history.
It's the same old song and dance every single football season with the Detroit Lions. As far back as I can remember, nothing has really changed.
In a perfect NFL football world, we would love to see the Lions make it to the playoffs and actually end up in just one Super Bowl game. Wouldn't that be awesome.
I was just curious about this, how long have the Detroit Lions been in the NFL?
The Detroit Lions franchise was founded back in 1930. Wow, that's 92 years ago. In all that time, the Detroit Lions have won four NFL championships. Once in 1935, in 1952, in 1953, and in 1957. I rest my case!
