According to nypost.com, passengers aboard a Delta flight from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale experienced a horrifying seven minutes when the plane plunged 30,000 feet.

Flight 2352 was halfway through its journey Wednesday when the plane dropped from an altitude of 39,000 feet to 10,000 feet.

One passenger said it just came out of nowhere. It felt like sort of a rapid descent. We started to lose altitude and then the oxygen masks dropped from the top of the plane.

One of the flight attendants grabbed the intercom and was just repeating over the intercom, do not panic. But obviously it was a hectic moment, because many people on the plane started to hyperventilate.

Another passenger who snapped pictures of the mayhem, said he contacted his girlfriend and his family to let them know that some scary stuff was going on aboard the plummeting plane.

The flight finally diverted to Tampa out out of an abundance of caution and landed without incident.
