My favorite lumber yard is officially closing after an incredible 77 year run in the Lansing area.   Hazen Lumber survived the rise of big box home improvement warehouses and the collapse of the housing industry.

But after 77 years in business, the independent lumber yard is closing.  Owners Morrie Smith and Eric Doll are running a retirement liquidation sale, discounting their remaining stock of doors, tools, windows, lumber and more.

The sale will run until the business runs out of inventory.  The 50,000 square foot complex at 2829 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. is for sale, listed at $695,000.

On a personal note, I've been doing business with Hazen Lumber for close to 30 years.  The wonderful staff at Hazen has taught me so much about trim work, installing doors and windows, building outside walls, decking and the list goes on and on.

I can't even thank Hazen Lumber enough for their great service and dedication throughout the years.  I've spent so many years remodeling my home and getting the best building advice from the staff at Hazen Lumber.  You will be sorely missed!  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
