A LOOK BACK: Remember the Creepy Clown ‘Fad’ that Hit Michigan in 2016?

Creepy Clowns made their way into Michigan back in 2016.

It wasn't some select group of wackos traveling from state to state dressed as maniacal clowns...it was more like copycats springing up across the country, attempting to get in on the 'clown prank' thing.

What was it? Mostly a person - usually male - under the age of 30 trying to scare people; going so far as following them and chasing them, with some wielding fake (sometimes real) weapons.

But it went beyond that...that 'craze' spread so fast that there were legitimately dangerous people putting on clown outfits in order to rob, hurt, and kill.

Where in Michigan were Creepy Clowns seen?
BIG RAPIDS
CADILLAC
DETROIT
LAKE CITY
LAPEER
MUSKEGON
NILES
PORT HURON
REED CITY

And other places, to be sure. Some sightings were even false, spread by the "clowns" themselves in order to make more scares.

What some of these pranksters didn't realize, is that sometimes their victims struck back - either with a punch in the head, a kick in the stomach...or a weapon. And then, BOOM. No more Bozo.

Even though the majority of these clowns were simply kids trying to scare, it wasn't taken lightly...for as I mentioned earlier, some of them had darker motives.
