We're less than three weeks away from the official start of spring March 20.  To get through these last days of winter, we're counting down with a bit of Michigan springtime each day.

Look for a different sign of spring as March 20th slowly approaches.  For example:  While you can probably hear overwintering black capped chickadees and early robins outside your window now, many of Michigan's part time winged residents will soon begin to make their way back from warmer climates.

You can visit MSU's butterfly house.  Spring is the time to stretch your wings and emerge from your chrysalis.  At least that's what the butterflies at the MSU 4H children's Garden will be doing.

What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than to get outside and take a hike on Michigan's best trails.  There are so many beautiful Michigan trails to enjoy once spring officially arrives.

How do you know spring has truly arrived in the state?  Is it the birds, the first flowers or the first pitch at a Tigers game?
