Chevrolet put out this short film travelogue in 1950, shown in movie theaters around the country...of course, it's to hawk their automobiles as the perfect way to see our state: "your magic carpet that will carry you to the land of your heart's desire.".

It's title: "Western Michigan: Vacation Land of the Inland Seas" whatever that meant. You'll see the Tulip Festival in Holland, Glen Lake, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Lake Michigan beaches, referred to as "miles after miles of golden sand."

It's an oldies and not very long, but it's fun to see this part of our state from 65 years ago...the fashions, the automobile models and the crummy road conditions!

Take a look...it's only three minutes long....it should've been longer.
