School Photos of 20 Michigan Celebrities
Think about who some of your favorite celebrities are.....then try to imagine what it would have been like if you knew them as kids before they became famous.
I've gathered up twenty of some of the most well-known people who had ties with Michigan: some were born here, some born and raised, some moved to Michigan as adults and lived here for a number of years, etc. But all of the following people are considered to be Michiganders, one way or another.
The twenty people (and where they once lived) are:
SONNY BONO - Detroit
JEFF DANIELS - Chelsea
PAM DAWBER - Detroit
GERALD FORD – Grand Rapids
GLENN FREY - Detroit
CHARLTON HESTON – St. Helen
IGGY POP - Muskegon
KID ROCK - Romeo
RICHARD KIEL - Detroit
MADONNA – Bay City
LEE MAJORS - Wyandotte
ED McMAHON - Detroit
MICHAEL MOORE - Flint
HARRY MORGAN - Detroit
GILDA RADNER - Detroit
DIANA ROSS - Detroit

The photos came from old yearbooks...looking at some of these, I wondered what these people were like as high school students? Were they shy, introverted, class cut-ups, popular, unpopular, shunned? How did their classmates feel about them? One of them that I wonder about is Robin Williams. We know him as that manic performer who could rant nonstop during a standup comedy performance, crack up the crew while doing a movie...and finally what his final hours were like. What was he like as a high school students among his peers?
Take a look at these photos and maybe come up with you own insight of what it may have been like to be one of their classmates...
