CDC Urges Gym Users To Be Careful
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning gym users to be careful after discovering outbreaks in Chicago and Honolulu. The CDC says that there's an increased risk of contracting COVID-19 in fitness centers.
The research showed that it's likely linked to heavy breathing or instructors shouting during classes. They're urging gym members to avoid working out if they're showing any symptoms of the virus.

Newser reports that one epidemiologist who wrote a case study on the subject said,
It's very important for individuals who would like to attend a gym and work out to be cognizant of what the COVID symptoms are, and to be aware that if you are feeling something that looks and feels like a COVID-19 symptom, to stay home as a precaution.
Twenty-one people in Hawaii caught the virus after a cycling instructor contracted COVID and taught for three days after showing symptoms. In Chicago, fifty-five individuals tested positive after attending a high-intensity fitness class where some members weren't wearing masks. This according to an article in the New York Times.
The CDC says if you have the option, working outside is safer. If you do plan on going to the gym to workout, make sure you are wearing a mask and keep the proper distance.
I don't know if I'm the only one who's been running into this problem, but I haven't been able to go to the gym recently. I go to a gym out in Okemos and I feel like it's always too packed. Everyone is wearing their masks and keeping their distance, but it still makes me a little bit paranoid. Am I alone here?
