Cases of Whooping Cough are Here in Mid-Michigan
We all know that having the flu is bad enough for anyone, more and more doctors are now seeing cases of whooping cough here in Mid-Michigan.
According to WILX-TV 10, Dr. Susan Fedewa says parents need to listen for the distinctive "whoop" sound as kids try to catch their breath during coughing fits. Other symptoms include sneezing, a runny nose, and a fever.
Whooping cough can kill infants. It can also cause pneumonia and swelling of the brain. Doctors recommend all children get vaccinated against it.
