Here's some great news!

According to WILX, the Capital Area District Libraries is reopening its 13 local branches starting today, June 22nd.

They are now moving gradually through three levels, starting with contactless item pickup and ultimately ending with fully restored branch services.

Level 1 begins today, June 22, with contactless item pickup. Library members who place items on hold can pick them up curbside or at the door.

CADL says the system will work in several ways. For example:

1. Visit a cadl.org/catalog to place an item or items on hold, indicating the branch location for pickup.

2. When your items are in or if you already had some on the hold shelf from before CADL buildings were closed, you will receive a notice via text or phone call that it's time to set up an appointment for pick up.

3. When you arrive at your appointed time, you will need to call CADL again to let them know you are on site. WILX has all the details regarding various locations and phone numbers.

By the way, the Capital Area District Libraries is conducting a free online reading challenge. Kids, teens and adults can earn prizes by reading and doing fun activities at home like Shapes tell the Story and Scavenger Hunts.

There's also fun virtual events like cattle tales and super market science. All you have to do is sign up at cadl.org/summer. We are currently promoting this on 99.1 WFMK. You can check it all out on our station app at 99.1 WFMK.
