BWL Building a New $500 Million Natural Gas Fired Power Plant

The Lansing Board of Water & Light announced it will be building a new $500 million natural gas fired power plant.

The new plant is set to open in 2021 at the current home of the Erickson Power Station.

BWL says this is the biggest project they have ever taken on.

The other part of the plan is to move the BWL warehouse on Pennsylvania Avenue to the old GM Verlinden plant on West Saginaw, now owned by the RACER Trust.  Here's more from WILX-TV 10.
