A plan to build 88 new single family homes on 44 acres of farmland off Haslett Road is drawing concern from nearby residents who live in an adjacent cul-de-sac.

Under the current plans, Creekwood Lane would be connected to the approximately $27 million proposed development, Copper Creek.

The neighborhood sits about a mile east of Lake Lansing, and the eventual development of the adjacent land has long been considered a given, several said, but routing its traffic through Creekwood Lane to Haslett Road will make a dangerous intersection worse.

The Meridian Township's Planning Commission recommended approval of the plan earlier this month, but its Board of Trustees has yet to weigh in.

They will begin considering the Copper Creek proposal on Dec. 11.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
