Building a Deck is the Worst Summer Project Ever
Is it easy to build your own deck? It all depends on who you ask. I say no it's not easy to build your own deck especially if you have no idea what you're doing.
And that's my dilemma I'm currently dealing with. Let me start from the beginning. Three years ago I ripped off the flooring from my old deck because all the wood was rotted out.

Did you catch the part where I said three years ago? Good, because that's what I'm trying to tell you. There's still no floor on the framework of my old deck, but that's about to change.
Finally after three years, I finally ordered Trex flooring for my deck and plan on laying it all out on the 4th of July weekend.
Am I doing this project by myself? Absolutely not. I have a friend who has a builders license, who is coming over to help me with this pain in the butt deck once and for all.
One of the big box stores dropped off about forty two 20 foot Trex boards with all the fasteners and everything else in between.
I never realized how much work really goes into building a deck and after this gets finished, I will never, ever tackle a project like this again.

Watching that whole process was quite amazing as long as somebody else does all the work and not me.
