Hidden in the Trees: Remains of the Old Boyne Rapids Mini-Golf
What is it with all the Michigan Shoe Trees and mini-golf courses? They keep getting eliminated one by one!
Another miniature golf course that took the dirt nap was the Boyne Rapids Adventure Golf, once located at 1231 M-75 in Boyne City, Charlevoix County.
Boyne Rapids was an 18-hole course, par 40, that opened in 1988. It contained a large, cool man-made waterfall in one of the fairways. The exact date when it was demolished is unknown... but on that site is now Louie’s Fresh Market that opened in 2003, so I guess it either the mini-golf was torn down that year or a year before.

If you go to Louie’s, you can still easily see a couple of leftover remans of the old mini-golf: a pile of large rocks that were part of the waterfall, and the shack which was once the small building where you got your golfing equipment and refreshments.
