Spring officially kicks off on Saturday, March 20 and we are all looking forward to it.  My wife and I have plans for spring and for summer, but especially for spring.  We're planning a weekend getaway to Ludington, Michigan.

Why do we like Ludington so much?  As described in visitludington.com, Ludington has so much to offer.

One of the most beautiful attractions is the Ludington State Park.  Visitludington.com tells us that it's a haven for hikers, fisherman, bikers, or anyone who loves what nature has to offer.  There are nearly seven miles of Lake Michigan shoreline.  The state park is a vacation within it self.  And don't forget about the House of Flavors!

Another great destination for spring break is Traverse City, Michigan.  Such a beautiful area and just looking at the Traverse City Bay is worth the drive itself.

According to tripping.com, the beaches at Bryant Park, Clinch Park and East Bay Park are perfect for sunbathing, beach combing, and beach volleyball.  You can also rent a speedboat, fishing boat, pontoon boat, or kayak.  And don't forget about the Traverse Bay Tours.

Another fun place for a Michigan spring break is Frankenmuth.  There's nothing better than a famous chicken dinner at the Bavarian Inn.  Tripping.com tells us that Frankenmuth offers a river tour of the town that includes fine wines paired with chocolates with Frankenmuth Fun Ships.

The Fantasy Carriage Company in Frankenmuth takes you on an elegant leisurely jaunt around town in a white horse drawn carriage.  Great fun, food, unique gifts, and perfect for a nice spring break.  (tripping.com)

According to tripping.com, the beautiful city of Grand Haven is another great spring break destination on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan.  The beach at Grand Haven State Park is great for spring sunbathing and sports.  If you enjoy bike riding, you can rent a bike and ride the 2.5 mile Grand Haven Boardwalk, which follows Grand River to Lake Michigan.

Michigan is such a wonderful and beautiful state with many great spring break destinations.  Every year my wife and I go to Ludington and we have a blast.  Take a look at more spring break destinations at tripping.com.
