Defunct Driving Range, Greenville: Was It Called “Arnold’s” or Not?

There’s not much to say about this forgotten driving range, except that it currently sits empty, with the Flat River Academy sitting on the back lot.

Even the name of the place is elusive. One person stated on waterwinterwonderland.com that it looks like the sign read “Arnold’s Driving Range”, so that’s what we’ll call it from here on.

It’s not near a golf course, or even a country club...just sitting out there along Greenville Road. Were there other amusements in that area at one time? Only residents of that community may know.

The former “Arnold’s” is located at 9350 SW Greenville Road. Aside from the driving range, there was also a mini-golf area. See? Another of our mini-golf courses GONE. Evidently, there was also a drive-in theater there as well. What happened? Why were all these fun things removed? No clue to when it opened, but it all seemed to close permanently in the 1990s.
