According to WILX-News 10, Your Breaking News and Weather Authority, more than 20,000 car crashes in Michigan in 2017 were caused by distracted driving.  Almost double the crashes from the year before.

April is distracted driving month, and police are cracking down on drivers who aren't focused on the road.  They're keeping an eye out for drivers who might be distracted behind the wheel.

According to the Michigan State Police, when you're traveling 70 miles an hour down a highway, even taking your eyes off the road for a split second can make all the difference in the world, and decrease your reaction time to stop and prevent being involved in a traffic crash.
