When was the last time you visited downtown Charlotte? For me, it's been quite some time now.

According to the Lansing State Journal, a building in downtown Charlotte has been vacant for the past two years and now get ready to welcome a new eatery at that same location.

Acapulco Mexican Grill which is a family owned eatery in Frandor, will open a second location in the space on South Cochran Avenue.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Michiganders love to eat, and you're going to love Acapulco Mexican Grill.

Jose Vera is an owner in the business, along with his brothers and father. His family opened the Frandor location about two and a half years ago. And now we can look forward to a second location in downtown Charlotte.

My family and I always make time to visit the Charlotte area. It's a nice area with plenty of shopping and very friendly people.

"Acapulco Mexican Grill will offer authentic Mexican food, along with a full bar" according to the Lansing State Journal.

The building is located at 112 S. Cochran Ave., which is owned by Dutch Brothers Development Group. And if you remember the Gavel, that was the restaurant that was there previously for the past 30 years.

So not only is there some history behind this story, but history will be made when Acapulco Mexican Grill moves into that building and provides delicious authentic Mexican food.

The restaurant will employ at least 12 people and they're hoping to open the restaurant by the end of August.
