Last weekend we were being warned about an ice storm heading our way. My husband went and bought a new generator so we would be prepared. Well as things go, buy the generator and no ice storm, you're welcome.

This coming weekend has another treat for us in Mid Michigan; snow and quite a few inches of it are on the way. The Weather Channel is calling for 3 to 5 inches of snow Friday night and 1 to 3 inches of snow Saturday. Keeping that in mind, it is probably a good time to remind everyone that in Michigan it is illegal not to clean off your car.

When you hit the road, not only should your windows be cleared off but all snow and ice should be removed. It is a real hazard if you are flying down the highway and ice from the roof of your car or the car in front of you flies off. Your windshield could be shattered  or worse, cause a accident involving other cars.

Michigan is one of 12 states that has made that a law, so as the next storm approaches remember before you hit the road, make sure your car is cleaned off top to hood. As far as those ice chunks under your car, well, you're on your own.
