Yet another event canceled due to COVID-19.

Announced on Monday, according to WILX, the Michigan State Firemen's Association will be canceling their annual Michigan Firefighters Memorial Service due to effects from coronavirus.

Originally scheduled for September 19th, the event will now be postponed now till the end of September of next year.

“We believe the cancellation of the 2020 Memorial Service is in the best interest of public safety and well being,” MSFA President Keith J. Berg said. “This decision did not come lightly and is a first in the history of the MSFA since the inception of the Michigan Firemen’s Memorial Service at the Michigan Firemen’s Memorial Site.”

All names that were set to be engraved on the wall this September will still be put onto the wall. The names will still be engraved on the wall this year.
