10 Useful Things to Do While Stuck at Home
With the executive order by the Governor, we are going to be at home for a while. You can see more on the executive order here, and below I'll help give you some suggestions some useful things to do while we are at home.
If you are working from home, make an area where you will work from that is comfortable and also will help you get stuff done. If you have a spare bedroom or a basement, those could be good choices. You will also want as few distractions as possible.
Learning a new skill is always good, but you will want to learn a new skill that will also help in your current job. Some examples could be learning a new language or learning more about computer programs; whatever you think will help in your current position. You can also learn how to cook a new dish. This might not help in your career but can help in life.
You will want to set up a system where you can intake things that need to get done and then get that done. Whether that means an online calendar (which google calendar can help with) or writing it down on a daily planner. It is very easy to get things done in the office as there are less distractions and everyone is working on accomplishing the same goal, so a planner will help you get things done at home.
You can see some great non-weight workouts here. Plus social media is having the push up challenge during this time so that is something else you can do.
Since you are inside, there is no reason to get up extra early to go out, which means this is a great time to catch up on sleep. Make a sleep schedule that will allow you to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep. This will allow you to be refreshed and be able to work productively for 16 hours instead of being up longer and not being able to be productive.
Now that you have more time, you might be able to save some money. Look through all of your bills and make sure you are paying the correct amount or maybe check to make sure you aren't paying too much. This will also give you time to get better acquainted with your finances and to make a financial plan.
Go through your phone to find apps that you don't use much and get rid of them. Also try to set notifications of the apps that you use most often. This is will allow you to look less at your phone without it flashing or buzzing a notification.
You will have a lot more time on your hands now, which will enable you to watch a tv show or movie that you didn't have time for before.
This will give you plenty of time to check on cupboards and other places in your home that you haven't cleaned in a while. Plus you might end up finding something you have been looking for for a while or something that can be useful.
It can be tough to get up and do something when you are in your house a lot, but try and do something good and useful for yourself everyday. So if you can't clean every day, then try and cook something new one day a week, or take a break and just do some nice meditation.
