While it is recommended that you see your primary care physician at least once a year, the reality is many people are not as diligent or proactive as they should be about their health care.

Seeing a physician every year allows them to build a complete picture of your health history and sets you up to interact with them at key points.

With a complete family history and a yearly physical to reference, your physician may want to schedule various tests that are recommended at certain points in your life.

An annual physical allows your doctor to look at long term changes and determine if your weight gain is normal or if lifestyle changes need to be made for your health.  Here's more great information from the Lansing State Journal.
