‘Weird Al’ Yankovic’s ‘Mandatory Fun’ Hits No. 1
The Daily News reports that the singer's sales were just over 104,700 copies, beating out pop act Jason Mraz. Weird Al commandeered the Internet this month, launching parody after parody, including 'First World Problems,' which premiered on PopCrush.
Weird Al took to Twitter to celebrate the official news, expressing his gratitude for the fans' support.
In an interview with Billboard, Weird Al reflected on the success of the album, calling it "the best week of my life."
"This has been an amazing week," he said. "I can't even tell you. I have been doing roughly the same thing for many, many years, and this is the best week of my life in terms of like the response from people. It's just insane and it's extremely gratifying. It's hard for me to wrap my head around (it)."
