A little-known Michigan hideaway is the Seven Bridges Preserve, or, as it also called, the Seven Bridges Nature Area.

It's located in Kalkaska County, 26 miles east of Traverse City, or 3 1/2 miles east of Rapid City along the Rapid River, on Valley Road.

The river is fed by many streams and there are plenty of natural bridges (fallen trees!) as well as man-made bridges to get you through the area. The good thing for non-hikers is: it's not that long at all...maybe a mile and a half but it's jam-packed with beautiful woods, water and wildlife.

MORE GOOD NEWS FOR TRAVELERS: it's open 24 hours a day! Might be fun walking through here at night...!
