Okemos High School recently hosted a distracted driving simulation for teenagers.  I think this was one of the smartest things that any school could have done to send a strong message to all drivers, especially teen drivers.

According to WILX-TV 10, State Farm sponsored the event, they say it is important for young drivers to experience this in virtual reality, so they don't repeat it in reality.

Most of the kids crashed the simulator right when the instructors told them to check their cell phones.

To sum this up, this lesson should stick with the teenagers who participated in this distracted driving simulation at their school.  This shows how easy it is to run into someone or something in the short amount of time it takes to read a text message.
