The PNC Bank branch in Haslett is set to close Friday.  Its departure will leave the community of 19,000 without a banking facility.

According to the Lansing State Journal, Fred Soloman, a spokesman for Pittsburgh based PNC Finanacial Services, said more customers are using online banking more and visiting branches less often.

When PNC closes its doors it'll leave Haslett without a bank of its own.  The department of PNC from Haslett will leave another hole in the mostly vacant Haslett Village Square, where 22 of 37 addresses are unoccupied.

A community of some 19,000 people is about to lose its only bank.  Haslett had a First Merit Bank branch at 1602 Haslett Road but it closed about two years ago.
