Governor Whitmer held a press release on Thursday to address the recent plateau in COVID-19 cases.

Finally some good news! Michigan has been in the press a lot lately in regards to recent spikes in coronavirus cases and this is the first good sign I've seen since the rollback on restrictions.

 Michigan Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun said Michigan's infection rate was beginning to plateau again, COVID-19 positivity rates were five times higher at the beginning of December than a couple of months prior.

Now just because coronavirus numbers are starting to plateau doesn't mean we still don't have a long road ahead of us. Just take the time to get comfortable with the fact that we'll all be bringing COVID-19 into 2021 with us. Once you do that the next following months will be much easier to deal with.

Pfizer announced that they will be starting vaccinations as early as next week in Britain. And if things go smoothly we could see a nod from the U.S. Food and Drug administration sooner than later for a U.S. release. The Genesee County Health Department has already designated six pod sites for vaccinations. So when it's finally time to administer vaccines, The Genesee county area will be ready.
