According to the Lansing State Journal, regardless of who wins in November, Ingham County voters will elect a woman as their prosecuting attorney.

Democrat Carol Siemon and Republican Billie O'Berry won their respective primary elections Tuesday, setting up the historic General Election matchup.

The winner will replace Gretchen Whitmer, the first woman to serve as the county's top law enforcement officer.

Siemon and O'Berry won their primaries less than a week after Hillary Clinton became the first woman to be nominated for president by a major political party.
