The Lansing Everett Marching band made it safely to Washington D.C. to perform during the Inaugural celebration  yesterday evening.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the band director thought the 47 members of the Lansing High School marching band would have plenty of time to warm up and practice before their scheduled 2:15 performance on a stage in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

But at 1:45 p.m., with the band barely off the bus, they were hustled on the stage as one of the first bands to play the "Vocie of the People" inaugural celebration.

In a five minute medley, they played "Uptown Funk," followed by "September" and then "You're a Grand Old Flag."
