The East Lansing/Lansing Alumnae chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity is hosting a scholarship competition, “Paving the Way for Young Musicians”, for grades 6-12. The winner will be announced at the “Music is Alive in Our Lives” event. “Music is Alive in Our Lives” will include a lecture entitled "Opportunity Meets Preparation: How the Rubber Meets the Road" by Jazz Pianist and Michigan State University Professor Reggie Thomas, followed by scholarship competitor performances and a reception.
