An egg hunt is a dog's dream come true, especially if there are treats hidden inside.  That's just what your best friend will get at Ingham county Animal Shelter Fund's fourth Doggie Easter Egg Hunt and Kid's Eggstravaganza on March 31 at Hawk Island.

The dog treats are in plastic bags, so it literally is an egg hunt, according to the Lansing State Journal.

Some dogs will actually open the eggs themselves.  More than 80 dogs attended last year's event, alongside more than 150 kids.  The two egg hunts are separate events.

They will have peanut free treats for the children and the dog treats are all grain-free, to accommodate dogs with food sensitivities.

Activities will include photos with the Easter Bunny and Ingham County Animal Control's mascot, Chippy, along with crafts, games and face painting.  There will also be agility activities for the dogs.
