It may be a bit confusing to some on where you will and won't need a face mask in the Greater Lansing area.

We do know that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention calls for a recommendation that anyone who has been fully vaccinated no longer needs to wear a mask indoors or outdoors.

According to the Lansing State Journal:

Owners of some stores, restaurants and entertainment venues say they are dropping their mask requirements for fully vaccinated customers.  Some plan to use the honor system, posting signs on their businesses outlining the CDC recommendations, then trusting customers to follow them.

The key here is trust.  You could go somewhere and someone might say they've been fully vaccinated and not really know if they're being honest.  Also, even if you are fully vaccinated and you want. to continue wearing your mask, that's perfectly fine too.

There's so much information to follow when it comes to where you need your mask and where it's not needed.

The Lansing State Journal adds:

Nationally, Walmart, Target and Trader Joe's have dropped mask requirements.  Monday afternoon Meijer revised their mask mandate.  Staff will be required to wear face masks.  Fully vaccinated shoppers will not.

My wife and I shop at Kroger in Okemos every weekend and we can tell you that masks are still required regardless of vaccinations or not.  At some point that may change.

The Lansing State Journal also tells us:

Unvaccinated Michiganders are still required to wear masks except where exemptions apply.  Those who are fully vaccinated must wear a mask in health care settings, per the CDC.  Businesses can still require contact tracing.  Social distancing and capacity limitations are still in effect, per MDHHS.  Most limitations are set at 30% of full capacity and the six-foot social distancing rule is in play.
