Its the Holiday season, and one of my favorite things to do is to pour a glass of wine sit by the fire and wrap Christmas gifts while watching a favorite holiday movie.

The Hallmark Channel is great with their non-stop Christmas movies but once its close to Christmas I need to watch all of my old time favorites.  So with that in mind, here is a list of the top 10 Christmas Movies from Esquire Magazine.

10-  A Christmas Carol  The 1951 adaptation of Charles Dickens work.  Other versions of the Dickens classic are also good, especially the George C. Scott version.

9-  The Muppet Christmas Carol  Okay, so its the Muppets, it still is a good version of the story and one your children will enjoy watching with you.

8-   Bad Santa   The Billy Bob Thornton stars in this film about a thieving department store Santa.

7-  Miracle on 34th St (the original one)  I feel, this movie should be in the number 1 spot.  This is my favorite Christmas movie, yes I know its black and white but I love it.

6-  Scrooged  The Bill Murray film about a t.v. executive who has lost the spirit of Christmas.

5-  Home Alone  The movie that made Macualay Culkin a house hold name.  In all honesty, no matter how many times I have seen this film, I will still stop and watch it when its on t.v.

4-  White Christmas  Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen.  I LOVE THIS MOVIE.

3-  A Christmas Story   The movie with the famous line " you'll shoot your eye out' it features the young Peter Billingsley and his dream of a Red Ryder BB gun.

2-  National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.  Our all time family favorite.  In fact I am watching that film right now.

.....and in the number one spot....

It's A Wonderful Life   The much loved story of George Bailey who is given a rare gift from an angle named Clarence.

So many other movies that are wonderful to watch so choose one of your family's favorite pop some popcorn and settle in for a wonderful evening.
