Michigan state government continues to struggle with bugs in a new payroll system that is hindering thousands of employees who are owed money for out of pocket expenses.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the government has fixed issues in the new, $178 million Statewide integrated Governmental Management Application, or SIGMA, system that affected employees' timesheets.

When employees have tried to submit reimbursement requests, screens would time out or employees would not be able to tell if their requests had been submitted.

About 3,800 employees' reimbursement requests are in varying state to SIGMA, from draft to submitted to final.
