Thousands of lights will illuminate the capital city as part of the 32nd annual Silver Bells in the City celebration.  Whether you take photos of the Electric Light Parade or view the fireworks display, here's what you need to know to be prepared.

Closures for Silver Bells events kick off at 4 p.m. with Washington Square shutting down from Lenawee Street to Ottawa Street.  Numerous downtown streets from Washington Square to Kalamazoo Street will be closed to motorists this afternoon.  Streets will start to reopen by 8 p.m.

This year's Silver Bells offers visitors a head start on their holiday shopping with more than a dozen vendors participating in the Silver Bell Village.  The Electric Light Parade kicks off at 6 p.m. from the corner of Lenawee and South Washington Square.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
