While it probably won't beat their record for snowfall, Marquette has had more snow this winter than they've had in the last ten years. According to MLive.com, Marquette has gotten 176 inches of snow so far this winter, which is about three feet more than normal at this point. Just during February, they've had 61 inches of snow - and counting. And of course, that snow isn't going anywhere - just piling up and making the streets look like they do in all those old black and white photos you've seen in scrapbooks and museums.

Marquette may not break the record - that would be 319 inches, which happened in 2001-2002, but they're on track for the 4th snowiest winter of all time for them.

Like any good reporter, I plan to go up there to report on the situation, first hand - sometime this summer. I'll be interested mostly in how this winter has affected the local beer industry.
