The Before and After
Obesity in the United States is getting out of control. With computers and video games, people just don't get up and move as much as they should, and that is causing more and more people to gain weight. Up until 2 years ago this weekend, I was way over weight, but finally did something about it and I feel like a new person. I joined Medi Weightloss of Okemos and lost the weight and took charge of my life.
I see so many people who struggle with weight issues, including members of my family, that I decided that was not how I wanted to live my life. Since the weightloss, I am now a runner (seriously) and I try to be active as often as possible. This is also a great way to teach your kids that exercise is fun. Anything from walking the new trails around Lansing, which are amazing, riding bikes or just walking around your neighborhood. Losing weight is easier if you incorporate it in your daily life.
When I was a kid, I spent as much time as possible outside, that is until the porch light came on. That is the kind of childhood I wish for all kids.
Get up and MOVE, set a good example for your kids to follow, and as you get older, your body will thank you for it. So for all who have asked to see my before pictures, so embarrassing, here it is.
