Tahquamenon Falls Summer Programs Features Daily Tours
My wife and I have been to Tahquamenon Falls in the Upper Peninsula at least a half dozen times.
Why do we both like it so much? Because it's a very scenic area and their summer programs are incredible.
Not only can you experience the Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls, they have special programs such as archery, bird walks, and even daily tours.
I'm a big fan of guided tours because you can learn so much about the history of the Tahquamenon Falls. Mlive.com shares this:
Workshops, kids’ classes and daily guided tours of the falls are just a few of the upcoming events from the park’s current schedule, posted here under “Nature Programs.” The following interpretive programs are for the week of June 27-July 3. Programs are free unless otherwise noted; a Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entrance into the park. Contact the park for more details.
If you're a true bird lover, than you will really appreciate the 9 a.m. morning bird walk which is located at the Lower Falls picnic area.
If you take the 2 p.m. Upper Falls tour, it's roughly a 45 minute walk to check out the largest waterfall in Michigan. The Upper Peninsula is loaded with Michigan waterfalls.
By the way, if you're headed to the Upper Peninsula this week and you're a fan of archery, you might want to be a part of "Arrows Away."
Mlive.com adds:
Saturday, July 2: Arrows Away! 10 a.m. at the Lower Falls Campground Office. Learn the basics of archery with hands-on practice shooting a compound bow. Children age 6-12 must have an adult present. River Exploration 12-2 p.m. at the Lower Falls. Wear water shoes or sandals and use provided nets to catch insects, crayfish and more. Meet down the boardwalk toward the viewing platform. Upper Falls Tour 2 p.m. at the Fact Shack. 45-minute walk to see the largest waterfall in Michigan. Meet at the Fact Shack (black bear display).
If you really enjoy hiking, then you'll really enjoy the Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls. It's nature at its finest here in Michigan!
