The Detroit Tigers have been on a hot streak for the past month. This impressive turnaround might be enough for the Tigers to clinch the American League Wildcard spot.
On June 28, 1926, Stoner gave up a massive home run by Babe Ruth. The ball went over the right-center field wall and was estimated to have traveled between 600 and 626 feet. It was the longest home run of Ruth's career and in 1965 was referred to as "probably the longest home run ever hit in Detroit."
Unfortunately, he never gained massive success and was one strikeout shy of 300 for his career. Most likely, his most notable stat was that he gave up what The Babe and many people feel was the longest Homerun and Babe Ruth’s career while pitching for Detroit.
How is he going to accomplish this though? Currently, there is the Detroit Police Athletic League which has its new headquarters and a baseball diamond on the site where it once stood, so that would mean tearing down the new facility to accommodate his dreams.
I agree that even if you don't stand you SHOULD take your cap off out of respect, but the fact he didn't intentionally NOT take it off and was harrassed I feel is totally out of line.
