The walkway in front of the Capitol is getting a facelift.  Work is already underway to replace and restore the shape of the sidewalk leading up to the east side of the Capitol Building from Capitol Avenue.

John Truscott, vice-chairman of the Michigan State Capitol Commission, said all the work is part of a long term, continuing process to restore the building and the grounds to its historic significance.

According to the Lansing State journal, the project will include a new historic marker and placement of two historical replica lampposts, similar to the ones on the steps, that were on the grounds originally.
