Next on the list when it comes to distracted driving, should it be illegal to pet your dog while driving?

Check this out, a new bill in the Florida Senate law could make it illegal to pet your dog while driving.  The proposed legislation takes aim at pets, but it also redefines distracted driving to include more than just mobile phones.

In a AAA survey, 52 percent of the people surveyed said they have pet their dog while driving.  29 percent admitted they were distracted by their animal.

Included in this new bill are also reading, writing and applying makeup while driving, which would all be against the law if the bill becomes law.

The bill would also classify distracted driving a primary offense, meaning you could be pulled over if a police officer catches you petting your dog while you are driving.  For more facts and information, click here at daytondailynews.com.
