The long-anticipated work on I-94 in Jackson County is now underway.  The over $100 million dollar improvements will be made on a nine-mile stretch of I-94 from M-60 to Sargent Road.

MDOT crews will start with resurfacing the shoulders.  MDOT plans to keep two lanes open in each direction during the day throughout the majority of the project.

The project will include for example:

1.  Reconstructing 1.4 miles of freeway between Lansing Avenue and Elm Road.

2.  Resurfacing 3.5 miles between Lansing Avenue and M-60, and resurfacing 4 miles between Elm Road and Sargent Road.

3.  replacing the bridge over the Grand River.

The project is expected to last through spring 2020.  Here's more information from WILX-TV 10.
