Yesterday, a man was killed by one of the roller coasters at Cedar Point.

It was not due to any faulty equipment...it was apparently the fault of the man himself.

He purposely went into a restricted area - not to be used by the public - to look for his cellphone that apparently fell as he was on the ride.

The coaster (the Raptor) came down and slammed into him at around 57 MPH and he was killed. Had he used the proper procedure - and requested an employee to search for the cellphone - this probably would not have happened.

The man in question was 45 years old and has been identified.
